Candidates who are thoroughly prepared experience NCLEX anxiety; candidates who are insufficiently prepared also experience it. The reliable indicators of readiness are the data-based benchmarks: sustained practice question accuracy above 55 to 60 percent across 1,500 or more completed questions with an upward trend, above-50-percent accuracy in every major content category, above-50-percent NGN accuracy tracked separately, and a passing-range result on a full timed simulation within two weeks of the exam. When these benchmarks are met, NCLEX anxiety is the normal emotional accompaniment to a well-prepared candidate’s exam experience — not a signal that something is wrong.
